Reclaiming
Space - What’s in a name? (page 2)
A lack of counter ideas
to challenge and question this culture risks rendering it indisputable,
immovable and absolute. A template for the world: a world where
the only thing that trickles down is a feeling of powerlessness.
A feeling that is the prerequisite for a co-operative consumer and
an unquestioning citizens. Who said that things cannot change and
tell me, why should we believe it?
I for one do
not. And this collection of ten songs that makes this album is a
testament of this. It is my own little way of reclaiming some space
for personal expression. The songs are little permanent cultural
pockets that attempt to subvert the dominating culture of excessive,
unscrupulous consumption that feeds the global capitalist world
order: a world order that seeks profit at the expense of people
and the planet. Nobody is too small to make a difference, as buzzing
mosquitoes constantly prove.
"Nobody
is too small to make a difference, as buzzing mosquitoes constantly
prove."
